Happy New Year!
CPAG is OPEN!
To our customers,
When we reopened after the first round of COVID related closures you came back, you wore your masks, you kept your distance from one another, you sanitized your hands frequently, you watched class/practice on a tiny screen instead of in person, you kept others safe by staying home when you weren’t feeling well, and you were patient and understanding. Thank you for sticking with us through thick and thin.
This is not a political statement, but I took great exception to Governor Wolf’s claim during the press conference yesterday that COVID “does well in gyms” because we have managed to spend a lot of time together doing what we love for several months without a single case of COVID transmission in our facility. We took a very cautious and measured approach and followed every safety guideline recommended to us by the PA Department of Health and CDC. I am proud of the decisions we made along the way, and I am extremely proud of and grateful to our staff and customers for taking responsibility and keeping our gym safe.
Governor Wolf has taken action he deemed necessary to protect public health that prohibits organizations like ours from operating effective Sat. Dec. 12th through Mon. Jan 4th. The following can be found on the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Website:
How do the Limited-Time Mitigation Orders apply to dance studios, gymnastics facilities, cheerleading gyms? All organized athletic contests, competitions, scrimmages, and practices regardless of what they are called are suspended including dance studios, gymnastics facilities, cheerleading gyms, etc. In addition, extracurricular activities, which includes activities such as non-competitive dance and cheerleading have been suspended by the order.
How do the Limited-Time Mitigation Orders apply to dance, gymnastic or cheerleading competitions? Dance, cheerleading, and gymnastics are all considered athletics and are suspended.
In accordance with this guideline we are suspending operations as ordered for
Dec. 12th - Jan 4th.
Central Pennsylvania Academy of Gymnastics is an independent business operating since 1989. We will reopen, but for now, we will stay home, wear our masks and keep our distance in order to keep our community safe and get past this awful chapter in history. Please visit our website or Facebook page for updates throughout the next few weeks. When the time comes to reopen, we will send you an email with details about our plan.
